Two Southern folk art face jugs. The left jug by Caleb McQuillen features a high-gloss black finish, flat eyelids, almond-shaped eyes with painted brown irises, fine incised details on eyebrows and mustache, and decorative orange accents that form tears under the eyes. The right jug by Albert Hodge of Vale, North Carolina has a brown tobacco spit glaze, prominent blue eyes, and a mouth with white teeth biting the lower lip.
