Two Southern folk art face jugs. The larger jug by Grace Nell Hewell features a glossy dark tobacco-spit glaze with blue streaks, puffy cheeks and chin, and hand-shaped white clay teeth in an open, slightly crooked smile. The smaller jug by Crystal King Pottery of Seagrove, North Carolina has an earthy olive, brown, and gray glaze, with an incised textured mustache and beard, wide eyes, and an open mouth.
