Southern folk art face jug by South Carolina potter Marvin Bailey. The jug features deeply set white ceramic bug-eyes with wide black pupils, giving the face a startled expression. The tightly packed teeth form a rigid grimace, while the glossy glaze has a mottled, wood-fired appearance with darker pooling around the ears and bridge of the nose.
