Southern folk art face jug by North Carolina potter William "Bill" Flowers. The jug features wide, bulging white clay eyes with dark pupils and a dramatic open mouth with roughly modeled, uneven teeth along the upper and lower jaw. Finished in a thick earthy brown and blue alkaline glaze with natural pooling and variations across the stoneware body.
