The 2012 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set, the key set of the series. The lens holds four dollars over the amber Treasury seal insert: Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland for his first term, Benjamin Harrison, and Cleveland again for his second. All recesses are filled. The coins are strong cameo proofs with deeply mirrored fields, no haze, milk spots or fingerprints. Packaging notes: a small dark nick in the plastic beside the Harrison recess, two faint hairlines on the outer plastic over the lower left coin, no crack in the lens. The outer box is present with a split and abraded top left corner showing white board. The Certificate of Authenticity is present in the photographs. Why this outranks the 2008 and 2011 sets offered nearby: in December 2011 the Treasury halted Presidential dollar production for circulation, so from 2012 on these were struck for collectors only. Mintages fell hard and 2012 is the lowest of the run. Clad, no silver. Estimated Value: $35 to $55. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
