A United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set for 2008. The CSV title for this lot was cut off mid phrase; the packaging shown is the complete 2008 set. One rigid lens holds four manganese brass clad dollars over the Declaration of Independence insert: James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren, each with the Statue of Liberty reverse. All four recesses are filled. The coins are deep cameo proofs with mirrored fields and frosted devices, and the photographs show no haze, milk spots or fingerprints. The lens is clear with light outer scuffing, no crack and no tape. The Certificate of Authenticity is present in the photographs, and the outer box is present with light corner rubs and edge wear. One thing to understand about this series: the date, the mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM are incused on the coin edge, not on the faces, so the edges must be read to attribute a loose coin. Those edges are not photographed here. No silver content. Estimated Value: $8 to $14. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
