A Lincoln wheat cent from the San Francisco Mint. All four date digits are legible and the S below the date is small and softly struck but clearly the right shape in the close-up. The coin is circulated at about Fine. Lincoln's cheek and jaw are smooth, the coat and bow tie show partial detail, LIBERTY is complete and readable, and the motto is present but soft. The reverse wheat ears keep most of their internal lines with all legends readable. Dark chocolate brown, evenly toned, a shade lighter on the reverse, with loose fibre and dust in the flip window. No verdigris, no corrosion, no scratching, rims intact. San Francisco struck only 4.8 million cents in 1915, one of the smaller Lincoln mintages, and the early S cents were spent hard in a working port city, so honest brown circulated pieces like this are how the date is usually found. The coin is graded F by the consignor. This coin is raw and has not been certified by PCGS or NGC, so the grade reflects the consignor's opinion. Estimated Value: $15 to $30. Sold as-is.
