A lot consisting of 1 Royal Air Force (RAF) tunic button and 1 St. John Ambulance Association service medal. The bronze medal features the eight-pointed Maltese cross with lions and unicorns in the angles, the insignia of the Order of St. John, within a border inscribed THE ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION. The medallion is surrounded by a frame with four trefoil terminals decorated with floral motifs. The reverse is engraved with the serial number A71134 and the recipient's name JEAN GRAY, and includes the mark REGISTERED AT ST JOHN'S GATE LONDON. The brass button displays the RAF eagle in flight beneath a King's Crown, identifying it as a pre-1953 issue. The reverse is stamped J. R. GAUNT & SON LONDON. Diameter: approx. 2.5 cm Height: approx. 4.4 cm (Measured from visible ruler). Condition: The medal exhibits a dark bronze patina with areas of surface oxidation and verdigris, notably on the reverse and along the edges. The brass button shows general tarnish and wear consistent with age, with the rear shank secure and intact.
