The set is finished in a solid pale pistachio green glaze with gilded rims and a gilded foot to the cup. The saucer features a scalloped edge. The cup is distinguished by a moulded handle in the form of a butterfly with wings extended, detailed with hand-painted black veining and a textured body. The interior of the cup and the underside of the saucer are finished in a plain white glaze. The base of the cup bears a black printed backstamp featuring a crown emblem surrounded by the words ROYAL ALBERT, CROWN CHINA, and ENGLAND. Above the mark is a gold printed registration number 767526, which dates the design to approximately 1931. A hand-painted pattern number 4711 in black is located at the top of the foot rim. Condition: A small chip or loss of glaze is present on the upper edge of the butterfly handle. Minor rubbing is visible on the hand-painted black details of the wings and the gilded rim. Light crazing is present on the glazed surface of the base.
