Sterling 925 Italy Rope Chain Necklace

Sterling silver rope chain necklace. The chain is a classic twisted rope link, medium weight, with good flexibility and a nice drape. It closes with a spring ring clasp, and the flat oval tag beside the clasp is stamped 925 on the top line with ITALY stamped below it. 925 means sterling silver at 92.5 percent pure, and the ITALY mark shows it was made in Italy. Rope chains are one of the most durable link styles because the twisted construction spreads stress across many links instead of loading one weak point. Condition is very good. The chain carries an even light tarnish that will polish right out, there are no broken or stretched links visible, and the spring ring clasp opens and closes as it should. Marked sterling chain always has a floor value in the silver itself. Estimated Value: $25 to $45 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
