James Avery sterling silver chain necklace. The chain is a fine twisted rope style link with a soft silver color and good flexibility, closing with a spring ring clasp. The flat oval link right at the clasp carries the maker mark, and read directly off the metal it says AVERY on the top line and STERLING on the line below. That AVERY and STERLING pairing is the mark James Avery has used on its silver chain for many years, and retired James Avery styles hold firm prices on the secondary market. Sterling is 92.5 percent pure silver, so a marked chain like this always has a base value in the metal on top of whatever the brand adds. Condition is good, with an even darkened tarnish across the chain that will polish out, no broken or stretched links visible, and a working spring ring clasp.
