Long single strand sterling silver bead necklace in the Southwestern style collectors call Navajo pearls. The strand uses two bead shapes. Most of the length is fluted saucer shaped beads, each stamped with fine radiating lines that catch the light and give the strand a lot of sparkle when it moves. The rest is round hollow beads with a visible seam line around the middle, which is simply how these beads are built, from two stamped domes soldered together. The necklace closes with a simple hook and eye style clasp, and the small flat tab at the clasp is stamped STERLING. Sterling is 92.5 percent pure silver, so a long strand of stamped sterling beads carries real weight and real metal value on top of the design. Condition is good for age. There is a warm gray and gold tarnish across the beads that will polish out, the stringing is sound with no loose or missing beads visible, and the clasp works. Estimated Value: $75 to $150 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
