Produced by Nitschke in Rathenow, Germany, this 8x35 "Plastvista" model center-focus binocular displays upper prism cover plate stampings featuring the diamond logo reading "NITSCHKE RATHENOW" on the right cover and "PLASTVISTA 8x35" on the left cover. The binoculars measure 5.5 inches high by 7 inches wide (14.0 cm H x 17.8 cm W) and weigh 539 grams (1 lb 3.0 oz). Constructed with metal frame elements, a central focusing wheel, and pebble-textured body coverings, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action, a smooth central focus wheel, and smooth right diopter focus adjustment. Optical glass displays large conchoidal fractures within internal optical elements on both sides, causing a blurry viewing performance. All components, including the exterior painted metal surfaces and body texture wrap, have been fully repainted, and the unit comes fitted with a leather neck strap.
