Dating to the early-to-mid 20th century, this German 8x30 center-focus field glass was produced by Frinke & Co. in Giessen. Upper prism plate stampings read "Frinke & Co. Giessen" on the left side and "Hassolux 8x30" on the right side. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 572 grams (1 lb 4.2 oz). Constructed with metal frame components and textured body coverings, the set features a loose central hinge pivot, a smooth central focus wheel, and a smooth right diopter focus ring. Optical glass provides clear overall viewing, though a small scratch is present on the right lens element. All exterior metal components, prism plates, and textured body coverings have been fully repainted.
