Dating to the mid-20th century, this German 8x30 center-focus binocular was produced by Steiner in Bayreuth, Germany. Upper prism plate markings feature the script "Steiner" brand logo on the left plate, "8X30" on the right plate, and "Made in Germany" stamped onto the central hinge cap. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 405 grams (14.3 oz). Constructed with black metal end plates and textured body coverings, the unit retains smooth central hinge tension, a smooth central focus wheel, and a smooth right diopter adjustment ring. Viewing performance is clear, though internal optical condition displays slight hazing on the left optical barrel. All mechanical and metal components appear original, while the textured body coverings are mismatched between the left and right barrels.
