This optical set is a pre-WWII era 7x50 "Marsept" pattern binocular produced by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany. The binoculars feature deeply stamped prism covers, displaying the framed "E. LEITZ WETZLAR" maker logo, serial number 485301, and the model "7x50 MARSEPT." Measuring 7 inches high by 7.5 inches wide (17.8 cm x 19.1 cm) and weighing 777 grams (1 lb 11.4 oz), this set is constructed of black end plates and a texturized body covering. The unit is equipped with individual diopter focusing controls and a central bridge hinge that is currently frozen. The lenses offer good viewing performance but show light internal dust spotting. Surface condition shows honest age wear, with scattered paint chipping and areas of texture loss.
