This original Third Reich vertical house banner measures 48" x 92" and consists of three machine-stitched cotton panels in the national tricolor of black, white, and red. At 48" x 92", this banner maintains the standard 1:2 ratio typical for building-mounted vertical banners (Hausfahnen). This size was widely used for public buildings and residential streets to create a uniform display during state holidays and political rallies during the early 1930s. This specific format was briefly re-established as the co-national flag of Germany from 1933 until the 1935 Nuremberg Flag Laws. The upper hoist is fitted with original reinforced fabric loops for suspension from a horizontal pole. The banner exhibits distinct signs of historical age, specifically heavy foxing and reddish-brown staining across the central white panel and some minor fraying to the top edge. The textile remains structurally intact with no large tears or significant repairs. BP/SW
