Produced during World War II by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany, under manufacturer ordnance code "ddx.", this 6x30 Dienstglas military optical set displays upper prism cover plate stampings reading "Dienstglas 6x30", serial number "237954", code "ddx", and cold-weather lubricant indicator triangle symbol "D". An internal reticle scale (ranging grid) is integrated into the right optical channel and is clearly visible. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 362 grams (12.8 oz). Constructed with metal frame elements and individual focus diopters, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action and smooth focusing controls on both diopters. Optical glass condition is clear across both channels, offering clear viewing performance with no defects. All components have been fully repainted, and a black textured finish has been applied over the body barrels and central frame structure—the applied coating shows a section of cracking on the right side of the body.
