Set of 8x binoculars produced by C.F. Foth & Co. during the period of operations in the Free City of Danzig, bearing the sought-after "DANZIG" factory marking. Manufactured with a central focusing system, the instrument measures 12.7 cm H x 12.7 cm W(5.0" H x 5.0" W) and weighs 511 g (1 lb 2.0 oz). The engraved serial number and specifications are present on the upper bridge. Optics are clear, with a single minor dust speck on the left side; all mechanical elements function fluidly and as intended. The set displays authentic field wear consistent with age. Accompanied by the original brown leather transport case, measuring 14.0 cm H x 14.0 cm W (5.5" H x 5.5" W), which maintains its structural integrity and features a well-preserved blue felt interior. The closure strap is broken at the buckle but otherwise complete. Equipment is fully functional and presents strong regional and technical historical interest. PM/OT
