This large-format German-language reference book, published in 1926 by Deutscher National-Verlag A.G. Berlin & München, was authored and illustrated by Professor Rudolf Knötel. Titled "Die Fahnen und Standarten der Deutschen Armee," this is the second expanded edition. The volume measures approximately 15 1/4 x 11 inches and is leather bound with a gilt decorative border and an applied cover motif. It contains 657 pages with numerous color and black and white plates, including large multi-panel fold-out plates depicting regimental formations and parade scenes, all accompanied by detailed historical text. The plates feature extensive artistic borders and period-accurate details. The book is in overall good condition for its age, with moderate wear to the leather binding, gilt page edges present, age-toned and foxed pages, bright plates, and intact fold-outs.
