This portfolio, published in Munich in 1942 by Verlag Heinrich Hoffmann, was originally issued as a collection of 20 large-format plates for the "Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung" held at the House of German Art. It includes 18 remaining plates—16color reproductions of paintings and 2 depicting sculpture, with plates #1 and #2 absent. Each plate measures 19.75 x 16 inches and features period printing techniques and original captions. The plates display several examples of foxing and minor corner wear, consistent with storage and age. The original printed portfolio, included, shows expected surface and edge wear. This publication documents the official selection of artworks exhibited in the 1942 show, reflecting art presented under the period’s official auspices in Munich during World War II. GE/SW
