Late 1950's FED 1 Camera-Copy Of Leica IId

This FED branded camera, a very close copy of the Leica IId. Made in 1958, this camera features an original FED leather case in good condition. FED, was a camera company from the Soviet Union, and they began to make Leica copies in 1934. This is the FED Model 1. It features a 50mm f3.5 FED lens. While the FED cameras were exceptionally close copies of the Leica Model IId, the cameras are not exactly compatible, specifically, the FED lenses were not interchangeable. The FED cameras were not manufactured to the same high standards as their Leica inspirations, they were fully manual cameras, able to take good pictures for a fraction of the price of an original Leica. The condition of this camera is very good, with no major issues to be found. The glass for the lens is free from scratches, dirt, or obvious mold/mildew. The skin on the body is without scratches or chipping. The interior is very clean, with no corrosion seen. The rangefinder window is clear and the focussing patch is easily seen. We have not tested this camera with film and can make no statements as to its functionality.
