Featuring a black metal and brass construction, these 8x prism binoculars by Emil Busch AG Rathenow are marked with the distinctive "Lynkop" model insignia and serial number 89944. Manufactured as a specialized wide-angle optic, the Lynkop was favored for its lightweight build and effective light transmission, meeting the operational needs of WWI and interwar German field personnel. The binoculars measure 9.5 cm H x 14.6 cm W (3.75" H x 5.75" W) and weigh 417 g (14.7 oz / 0.92 lbs). The right side provides a clear image, while the left presents a significant internal hazy spot. The mechanism retains smooth focus and hinge adjustment. The set is housed in its original brown leather transport case, measuring 12.7 cm H x 16.5 cm W (5.0" H x 6.5" W), with blue felt lining, intact stitching, working buckle, and a remaining "Made in Germany" label.
