These binoculars, produced by Carl Zeiss in Jena, Germany, are the 6x Telex model. The upper prism cover plates display stamped markings including the "CARL ZEISS JENA" lend-style logo, the model name "TELEX," serial number "1044016," and a magnification power of "6X." Featuring dimensions of 4 inches high by 6 inches wide (10.2 cm x 15.2 cm) and weighing 469 grams (1 lb 0.5 oz), the construction includes black textured body panels and metal end plates. The central hinge provides smooth tension, and the individual diopter adjustments operate very smoothly. The optical glass is in very good condition, free from visible internal defects. Both the metal frame housing and the textured body panels have been repainted, indicating past restorationwork. The design reflects classic commercial and military influences typical of Carl Zeiss field optics. PM/OT
