ca. Dated 1831; Done by "Sarah Ann Townley, aged 11 years and 4 months, Philadelphia" with date "August 31 1831". Silk thread stitch embroidery on unbleached linen homespun tight woven ground. The pictorial sampler of a bouquet of roses and wildflowers with a blue bow and two lower corners with matching blooms of unknown flowers, framed in a dark stained cherry wood frame; Frame 19 3/4" x 19 7/8"; Condition: ***Note - not removed from frame during cataloging, unknown if mounted to backing. No tears. Good-very good condition.
