ca. 1920; Large frame mounted pictorial hook rug with a large standing dog, attributed to southeastern PA Mennonite community. Assembled from salvaged rag, it is hooked on a burlap ground with mixed fabrics that are uniform cut with some torn looping. The rug has a black border, central black and white standing farm dog figure with a hit and miss randomly selected background. The fabric selection includes: printed cottons, black tri-blends and some solid tone cottons; 49" x 32"; Condition: Shows wear from use and sun fading. Nice form, frame mounted for wall hanging.
