ca. 18th-19th century; Unattributed origin, tribal-type bowl the appears to have been charred and shell scrape worked. The bowl has a flattened bottom, rounded sides, flattened rim and appears to have been used with grease or possible starchy root. The bowl has a rough surface from a serrated edge scraper (possible shell); 8 3/4" dia. X 4 1/2"; Condition: unspecified origin, believed to be island or African culture tribal carved. Old "make-do" repair noted with an open crack.
