Dated 7 Jan. 1942; PA sgraffito dish with PA German border inscription: "In the middle of the state (position) a star; what I like I love to eat – Made in Stahl's pottery by Thomas Stahl and decorated by Carrie Stahl Schultz"; central design of two birds and a star; muddy brownish and greenish lead glaze, coggled rim. (Stahl's Pottery, Powder Valley, Lower Milford Twp., Lehigh County, PA), 1 7/8" high, 9 5/8" diam; Condition: as made.
