ca. early 20th century box; Painted oak lidded round pantry box with swing handle, often called a lidded cake box. This box has oak bentwood bands with tack fasteners, pine heads and handle is tack mounted with metal mounts. The cake box has reddish-brown or turkey red painted finish; 11 5/8" dia. X 6 5/8"; Condition: Very good. Age of paint is unknown, possible later addition.
