One of the later issues from the original Peace Dollar series, this 1934-D Silver Peace Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint and carries the distinctive "D" mintmark. Composed of 90% silver, it contains approximately .7734 troy ounces of pure silver. Anthony de Francisci's iconic design features Liberty on the obverse and a bald eagle resting on a rock with an olive branch on the reverse. The Peace Dollar was introduced in 1921 to commemorate the return of peace following World War I. The 1934-D is a desirable issue for collectors, particularly those building a complete Peace Dollar date and mintmark collection. Its later-series date and Denver origin add to its numismatic interest.
