Carrying the distinctive Denver "D" mintmark, this 1923-D Peace Dollar represents an early issue from one of America's most iconic silver dollar series. Struck in 90% silver, it contains approximately .7734 troy ounces of pure silver. The obverse features Liberty wearing a radiant crown, while the reverse depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock with an olive branch. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar was introduced in 1921 to commemorate the restoration of peace following World War I. The 1923-D is a sought-after date and mintmark combination, making it an appealing addition for collectors building a Peace Dollar set or adding early U.S. silver to their collection.
