Collectible Gerry Ballantyne Mandan Indian Buffalo Dancer figural bronze bell, featuring a detailed Native American dancer wearing a horned buffalo headdress and holding ceremonial implements. The figure stands atop the bell, while the cylindrical bell body is decorated in high relief with buffalo-head medallions and additional Native American-inspired motifs. Ballantyne produced a number of collectible figural bells depicting historical and cultural subjects, and this example is identified as the Mandan Indian Buffalo Dancer. The sculptural design has a dark bronze-toned patina with raised areas showing warmer highlights that emphasize the detailed modeling of the dancer, buffalo headdress and relief decoration. A distinctive piece for a collection of Gerry Ballantyne bells, figural bronze bells, Western Americana, buffalo-themed collectibles, or decorative bells. Displays some surface wear and patina consistent with age. See photos for details.
