Signed D. Histia Acoma-Style Pottery Owl Hand-painted Native American pottery owl effigy, signed “D. Histia” on the underside. The sculptural owl features a rounded body with projecting wings, modeled ears and beak, and an open loop beneath the beak. Finished with an off-white slip and reddish-brown painted decoration, including overlapping feather patterns, striped wing and tail details, and a sunburst motif on the chest. The form and decoration are consistent with traditional Acoma Pueblo pottery owl effigies, although the exact identity of the potter has not been confirmed. Measures approximately 5" tall x 5.5" wide. There is a repaired crack across the lower tail area, with visible hairline cracking and adhesive/residue from the repair.
