Four Hopi-Tewa Hand-Painted Pottery Vessels

Collection of four vintage Hopi-Tewa pottery vessels, each hand formed and decorated with traditional geometric designs in black, brown, red and natural clay tones. The group includes a small redware vase with bold black geometric decoration, a rounded polychrome vessel, and two open bowls featuring intricate linear and geometric designs. Two pieces are accompanied by collector notes identifying the artist as Minerva Shula. One of the bowls is also hand-inscribed “Minerva Shula” on the underside. Another vessel has a partially legible inscription/marking on its base. The accompanying collector notes identify the pieces as Hopi-Tewa and include measurements and attribution information. The pottery displays natural variations from hand forming, firing and painting, along with age-related surface wear, rubbing and losses to portions of the painted decoration, particularly visible on the larger vessels.
