A single framed needlepoint textile study depicting a rose in full bloom. The motif is worked in a palette of cream, peach, and golden yellow, accompanied by a single bud and green foliage. The work is executed in tent stitch on canvas against a dark chocolate brown ground. The textile is mounted behind glass with a natural linen-coloured mat and a thin, gold-toned inner fillet. The piece is housed in a substantial wooden frame with ornate, deep-relief gilded decoration featuring foliate and scroll motifs in an antiqued finish. The reverse is finished with white framing tape and a hanging wire. The upper right corner of the reverse frame bears the handwritten number 250-5 in black ink. Condition: The needlework is in good condition with no visible fading, staining, or thread loss. The frame shows minor surface wear, light abrasions, and small losses to the gilded finish consistent with age. The framing tape on the reverse shows signs of age and wear.
