A mid-century modern electric wall clock manufactured by the United Clock Corporation, Brooklyn, New York. The design features a central circular brass-toned housing with a starburst surround. This decorative frame consists of eight tapered wooden rays interspersed with bundles of thin brass-toned metal rods, several of which terminate in small black spherical finials. The dial is composed of a sunburst-textured golden metallic centre and a white outer chapter ring with applied golden-toned Roman numerals. The clock is fitted with black hour and minute hands and a thin central second hand. The rear motor housing is stamped with manufacturer details and identifies the piece as Model No. 390. The item includes an integrated power cord with a North American two-prong plug. Diameter approx. 61 cm. Condition: The item shows signs of age-appropriate wear, including surface dust and minor tarnishing to the brass-toned elements. The electrical movement is untested. As the clock is of United States specification (115V), it will require a step-down transformer and plug adapter for safe operation on the UK mains system.
