A porcelain tea and dessert service manufactured in East Germany for the Fisher-China brand. The set features multiple iridescent lustre glazes in various shades, including pink, purple, and blue, with heavy gilt highlights throughout. The service comprises six plates with scalloped rims, each decorated with a central mythological vignette depicting figures in a woodland setting surrounded by gilt floral sprays. Accompanying the plates are six lobed saucers and six footed demitasse cups, each featuring a transfer-printed Fragonard-style scene of a courting couple in 18th-century attire. The cups are designed with flared rims, scrolled handles, and gilded footed bases. The underside of the plates bears a blue printed mark consisting of a five-pointed crown symbol above a ribbon banner containing the text FISHER-CHINA, with Made in East Germany printed below. A hand-painted black number 34 is also present. Diameter of plates approx. 19.7 cm (7.75 inches) measured against a ruler. Condition: The service is in good overall condition. There is minor, age-appropriate wear to the gilt highlights, particularly on the high points of the handles and rims. The pieces are free of visible chips, cracks, or restoration.
