60s Black Watch Tartan Skirt & Fringe Shawl Set

Dating to the 1970s, this vintage two-piece women's ensemble includes a flared circle skirt and a matching wrap shawl woven from pure wool fabric in a classic green, navy blue, and black Black Watch tartan plaid. The A-line skirt is cut on the bias and features lined side inseam pockets, a rear nylon zipper closure with double hook-and-eye waist fasteners, and a fringed bottom hemline. The coordinating rectangular shawl displays self-fringe trim along all four outer edges, with no maker or content tags present on either piece. This most definitely had been hand made by the original owner or custom made in Scotland. NO tags present. This set presents in overall good vintage condition showing light, expected wear from age and handling. Thewoven plaid remains crisp and vivid throughout, featuring intact fringe trim and a functional rear zipper mechanism. The skirt measures 13" waist (flat across) x 28.5" total length, while the shawl measures 64" W x 64" L folding at the corners (including fringe). Offering a complete head-to-toe traditional aesthetic, this charming two-piece set presents excellent wearable versatility and display appeal for collectors of vintage Scottish and Celtic textiles.
