Oak coffee table measuring about 53 by 31 and a half inches, in the Chippendale revival taste. Two inset glass panels flank a central herringbone parquetry panel of short oak strips within a straight grain border, set into rabbets with corner retaining pins. Both glass panels are present and unbroken, and the herringbone shows no lifting, cupping or missing strips. The table stands on four cabriole legs with carved ball and claw feet, with carved shell and scroll ornament at the apron centers and carved acanthus at each knee. Machine cut parquetry and oak place this as late 20th century production rather than period. No maker mark, though the underside was not photographed. Condition is fair to good with finish wear along the top frame edges, rub through at the corners, and a 3 inch scratch across the herringbone center. Sold as-is.
