Sumter Cabinet Co Kneehole Desk 43 Inch

Single pedestal kneehole desk in the Colonial revival taste, with three graduated drawers in the left pedestal, a wide center drawer, and an open right side carried on two ring and vase turned legs joined by an H stretcher. Six dark patinated bail pulls with scrolled foliate backplates are fitted. A branded triangular stamp inside a drawer back reads SUMTER CABINET CO. SUMTER, S.C. with FURNITURE DIVISION around the lower arc. Please note that no American Drew mark appears anywhere on this desk. A tape measure across the top reads approximately 43 and three quarter inches wide. Condition is fair. The desk was stored outdoors and photographed on grass. The finish is dull and dry with widespread dark fly speck across the drawer fronts and case sides, the top is faded noticeably lighter than the case, and one rear foot is abraded.
