Columbia Grafonola upright floor model acoustic phonograph in a mahogany case with fluted quarter column pilasters, cabriole legs with scrolled feet, and a hinged lid. The gold laurel wreath decal under the lid reads COLUMBIA GRAFONOLA, MADE IN U.S.A. and TYPE H-2, and it is largely intact. The speed plate is marked SLOW and FAST and the brake lever reads PATENT APPLIED FOR. No serial number appears anywhere. The nickel gooseneck tonearm and the reproducer with its needle chuck are present, the side crank is present with its turned ball handle, and the lower cabinet holds the original green cloth record filing pockets numbered 1 through 48, complete. Condition is fair. The finish is crazed and cloudy, the top is heavily scratched with white paint specks, finish is flaking on the left door edge and inside the motor well, and the turntable felt is worn. The motor was never wound or demonstrated, so it is sold untested. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
