A group of Canada 25-cent silver coins dating from 1939 to 1949. The collection consists of specimens struck in .800 fine silver with reeded edges. The obverse of each coin features the uncrowned portrait of King George VI facing left. Specimens dated 1939, 1941, and 1946 carry the legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :. The 1949 specimen features the updated legend GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA REX. The reverse design across all coins depicts a caribou head profile with the inscriptions CANADA and 25 cents.
