of the Otorongo Master Hand-Beaded Amazonian Necklace. This exceptional Wamprat - Power of the Otorongo necklace is a completely original, entirely hand-crafted creation by distinguished Yanesha artisan Cely Machari of Pasco, Peru. Formed from thousands of individually arranged glass seed beads, the work combines ancestral Amazonian symbolism with an elegant, luminous design suitable both as statement jewelry and as collectible Indigenous art. According to the artist, the composition is inspired by the patterned skin of the otorongo, or Amazonian jaguar, and the shushupe, one of the most emblematic serpents of the tropical forest. Within the meaning communicated by Machari, these powerful animals symbolize strength, power, and leadership. A series of large golden diamond-shaped motifs extends rhythmically across the broad collar, evoking the markings and protective patterns of Amazonian wildlife. These forms are woven into a delicate openwork field of translucent and pearl-white beads, creating a remarkable balance between visual strength and refined lightness. The necklace descends in multiple layers of fine beaded latticework, ending in a graceful fringe of transparent bead drops. As the piece moves, the suspended elements catch and reflect light, giving the necklace a luminous, almost ceremonial presence. White floral-like details and smaller golden accents enrich the lower border while preserving the harmony of the central composition. Every bead has been individually selected, positioned, and joined by hand. The controlled symmetry, gradual shaping of the neckline, and complex openwork construction demonstrate exceptional patience and technical precision. Because the necklace is entirely handmade, subtle variations are an essential part of its unique character and ensure that no second work can be completely identical. The combination of golden, pearl-white, and transparent glass beads gives the necklace a sophisticated contemporary appearance while preserving its connection to Yanesha knowledge of the forest. Its broad silhouette and radiant surface make it particularly suitable for collectors of wearable art, Indigenous jewelry, Amazonian craftsmanship, and exceptional hand-made design. ARTIST Cely Machari is a respected Yanesha master artisan from the Pasco region of Peru. Her work contributes to the preservation and transmission of Yanesha artistic knowledge through hand-beaded jewelry, textile painting, and designs inspired by the wildlife, plants, waters, mountains, and cultural memory of her community. Through her original creations, Machari transforms ancestral symbolism into sophisticated contemporary works that celebrate Indigenous identity, the creative leadership of Amazonian women, and the continuity of living Yanesha traditions. PROVENANCE Acquired directly from the artist in Peru for Gallery Arts & Auctions Co. AUTHENTICITY This necklace is a completely origin
