Sacred Rock Plant Necklace Master Hand-Beaded Amazonian Jewelry. This elegant Shepcholl Sacred Rock Plant Necklace is a completely original, entirely hand-crafted work by distinguished Yanesha artisan Cely Machari of Pasco, Peru. Composed of hundreds of individually arranged glass seed beads, the necklace translates the form of the Shepcholl-identified by the artist as a small plant associated with rocky environments-into a graceful piece of wearable Amazonian art. The composition features a broad, gently curved collar formed by multiple rows of luminous white beads accented with vivid green detailing. A rhythmic series of openwork strands descends from the neckline, ending in delicately articulated green-edged points that evoke sprouting leaves, hanging shoots, and the organic growth of vegetation across stone. The fresh contrast between white and green gives the necklace a refined and contemporary appearance while preserving its connection to Yanesha knowledge of the forest and its plants. The repeating beadwork creates a remarkable sense of movement, allowing the lower elements to fall naturally and respond elegantly when the necklace is worn. Every section has been assembled completely by hand. The uniform spacing, carefully controlled symmetry, and gradual transition between the central and lateral sections demonstrate the patience and technical precision required for traditional beadwork. Because each bead is individually selected and joined, subtle variations confirm the necklace's unique hand-crafted character. The use of durable glass seed beads gives the work lasting color and resilience when handled and stored with appropriate care. At once ornamental, symbolic, and culturally meaningful, this original necklace is suitable as distinctive statement jewelry or as a collectible example of contemporary Indigenous Amazonian art. ARTIST Cely Machari is a respected Yanesha master artisan from the Pasco region of Peru. Her practice contributes to the preservation and transmission of Yanesha artistic knowledge through textile painting, traditional design, beadwork, and imagery inspired by the plants, landscapes, and cultural memory of her community. Machari has participated as a Yanesha textile master in cultural programming connected with Ruraq Maki, an important initiative of Peru's Ministry of Culture dedicated to traditional and Indigenous art. She has also participated in projects highlighting the voices, knowledge, rights, and creative leadership of Amazonian Indigenous women. PROVENANCE Acquired directly from the artist in Peru for Gallery Arts & Auctions Co. AUTHENTICITY This necklace is a completely original and individually hand-crafted creation by Cely Machari and was acquired directly from the artist.
