A trio of antique German dolls featuring bisque socket heads on jointed composition and wood bodies, each presented in a traditional international folk costume. The group includes a Heubach 250 Dutch boy doll featuring blue glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes and a blonde mohair wig. He is dressed in an original ensemble comprising a red felt tunic accented with seven yellow bead buttons, a black velvet jacket, matching trousers, a black velvet cap, and hand-carved wooden clogs. The German lady doll by Walther & Sohn features dark glass set eyes and a light brown mohair wig, wearing a period-correct folk dress including a white blouse with a lace-trimmed collar, a red felt bodice with green ribbon trim, a patterned black skirt, and a straw basket accessory filled with fabric flowers. Completing the set is a Scottish Highland soldier doll featuring blue glass set eyes and a dark mohair wig under a tall black fur busby. These dolls exhibit expected signs of age and wear including minor surface soiling to the bisque and thinning to the mohair wigs. The original costumes are well-preserved with typical light shelf wear and minor seam fraying consistent with their age.
