A Collection of Antique & Vintage German Bisques

This collection features several antique German bisque dolls and an Art Deco era display piece. The assembly includes a Gebruder Knock soldier doll featuring a bisque head with painted intaglio side-glancing eyes and a blonde mohair wig. He is dressed in an original military-style red felt jacket with white trim and corduroy pants. A notable piece is the German bisque flirty eye doll with a shoulder head and molded hair. This doll features a rare alphabet body made from novelty fabric printed with games and letters, finished with bisque lower limbs and painted shoes with ribbon ties. The collection also contains a German dressed lady doll in a multi-piece regional folk costume with a lace headpiece, velvet vest, and miniature bucket accessory. A German half-doll is presented on a large satin pincushion base with separate bisque legs featuring painted gold shoes. The group is completed by a porcelain Art Deco style mannequin bust with a molded yellow turban and painted facial features, featuring a threaded mounting socket on the base. Soldier: 9 inches, Alphabet doll: 10 inches, Dressed lady doll: 9.5 inches, Half-doll on pincushion: 9 inches, Porcelain head bust: 5 inches. These dolls exhibit expected age-related wear and surface soiling. The alphabet doll and the pincushion doll have undergone previous repairs or require restoration. The soldier doll garments show staining on the lower portions. The regional doll has minor foxing on the textile elements. The porcelain bust displays scattered scuffs and paint flakes.
