1924-D Buffalo Nickel, struck at the Denver Mint. This is a scarce early Buffalo Nickel and a desirable date-and-mint issue, particularly in higher grades. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Buffalo Nickel was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser and introduced in 1913. The obverse features a Native American portrait, while the reverse depicts an American bison standing on a raised mound. The 1924-D had a mintage of only 5,258,000 coins, making it significantly scarcer than the Philadelphia issue. The 1924-D is particularly difficult to find in well-preserved condition, with most surviving examples showing substantial circulation wear.
