1912 D Lincoln Cent

1912-D Lincoln Cent, struck at the Denver Mint. This early Lincoln Wheat Cent is a desirable issue for collectors building a complete date-and-mint collection. The Lincoln Cent was introduced in 1909 and features Victor David Brenner’s portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse and the classic wheat-ear reverse. The 1912-D is considerably scarcer than the Philadelphia issue and is an important early Denver Mint Lincoln Cent. The 1912-D had a mintage of 15,309,000 coins. It was struck in 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, weighs approximately 3.11 grams, and measures about 19 mm in diameter. The “D” mint mark appears below the date on the obverse.
