Rare Loetz art glass shade of dramatic shell or fan form, molded in translucent pale blue-green glass with a deeper turquoise concentration toward the fitter opening and a delicate silvery iridescent surface. The highly sculptural body is modeled with radiating ribs, rippling organic folds, and pronounced layered ridges suggestive of a stylized seashell, giving the shade exceptional dimensionality and a distinctly Art Nouveau character. Viewed from either side, the molded surface catches and refracts light across the raised contours, producing shifting blue, green, and soft violet highlights. The circular fitter opening is integrally formed at the narrow end, while the opposite edge expands into an irregular scalloped crest. Loetz is well documented for experimental molded and freeform shell-related glass designs during the Art Nouveau period, making unusual lighting forms such as this especially appealing to collectors. Condition appears very good overall with expected light surface wear and minor manufacturing irregularities inherent to early art glass; no major cracks or significant losses are apparent from the photographs. Measures 6.5"H x 4.75"W x 2.75"D.
