Rare and highly decorative early 20th-century Handel table lamp featuring a large hemispherical reverse-painted glass shade in the desirable Persian Border pattern, the warm amber-gold upper field descending to a broad ornamental band richly painted with stylized scrolling foliage, blossoms, grape-like clusters, peacock-inspired bird motifs, and intricate Persianate arabesques in coral, burgundy, green, turquoise, cobalt, yellow, and ivory. The interior photographs reveal the finely executed reverse-painted decoration and textured background surface, creating considerable depth and luminosity when illuminated. The substantial period metal base has a warm bronze-gold patinated finish with an elongated baluster-form standard and broad circular foot, both covered in an intentionally textured, organic surface treatment, and the lamp retains its three-socket cluster, pull chains, domed cap, and finial. Persian Border shades are among the more distinctive ornamental designs associated with Handel production and marked "7119 Handel" on bottom. Condition appears generally good for age with scattered surface wear, rubbing and minor losses to the painted decoration, oxidation and patina to the metalwork, and expected wear to the electrical components and cord; wiring has not been tested and should be professionally inspected before use. Measures 23"H overall and shade is 8"H x 18" in diameter.
